Gaiety Heritage Cultural Complex is a popular tourist spot on the Mall road in Shimla. The complex is an idle example of the Gothic Victorian style architecture, which was designed by renowned architect Henry Irwin. It is one of the oldest cultural complexes in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
Built in the year 1887, the complex was a five-story building having a theater, ballroom, armory, theater, police office, bar, and galleries. The building was declared structurally unsafe after nearly two years from its establishment. So, it was partly demolished, keeping Gaiety theatre untouched.

Highlights: The most popular attraction in the complex is the Victorian theatre, Art gallery, and City Museum.

Indian Institute of Advanced Study
Indian Institute of Advanced Study is located on the Observatory hill in Shimla and is a center for higher education. The building of the institute is more than 100 years old and was built as a home for the Viceroy of India of that time.  This place is the ideal place for the photo-enthusiasts. This historical edifice, surrounded by a beautiful garden, provides ideal settings for photography.
